The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 142 districts/cities with a weekly agglomeration of confirmed positive COVID-19 cases above the national average, currently recorded at 2.66 per 100,000 population/week (data as of Saturday, September 17, 2022).
The top five districts/cities with confirmed positive cases exceeding 20.75 per 100,000 population/week are Teluk Bintuni, Tomohon City, Sabang City, Central Jakarta City, and West Jakarta City, with values of 30.37, 28.98, 28.51, 20.75, and 20.75 per 100,000 population/week, respectively.
A recapitulation of national COVID-19 data from the Ministry of Health shows a decrease in confirmed positive cases in most districts/cities outside Java. Seventy districts/cities recorded higher daily confirmed positive cases than previously, while 77 districts/cities recorded lower confirmed positive cases.
Areas outside Java with the highest confirmed positive case rates include Teluk Bintuni, Tomohon City, and Sabang City, with confirmed positive cases of 30.37, 28.98, and 28.51 per 100,000 population/week, respectively.
Although COVID-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce COVID-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
