The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 54 regencies/cities with a weekly number of confirmed positive COVID-19 cases above the national average, currently recorded at 1.26 per 100,000 population/week (data as of Monday, June 27, 2022).
The top five regencies/cities with confirmed positive cases exceeding 43.02 per 100,000 population/week are South Jakarta, Central Jakarta, South Tangerang, West Jakarta, and North Jakarta, with values of 74.26, 53.96, 50.1, 46.88, and 43.02 per 100,000 population/week, respectively.
A recapitulation of national COVID-19 data from the Ministry of Health shows an increase in confirmed positive cases in most regencies/cities outside Java. Twenty-five regencies/cities recorded higher daily confirmed positive cases than before, while 18 regencies/cities recorded lower confirmed positive cases.
Some of the areas outside Java with the highest confirmed positive case rates include Badung (26.92 per 100,000 population/week), Teluk Bintuni (15.91 per 100,000 population/week), and Denpasar (9.93 per 100,000 population/week).
Although COVID-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce COVID-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
