The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 32 regencies/cities with weekly hospital inpatient usage above the national average, currently recorded at 0.61 patients per 100,000 population/week, data as of Wednesday, January 18, 2023.
The five top regencies/cities with inpatient usage exceeding 3.1 patients per 100,000 population/week are Surakarta City, Mahakam Ulu Regency, Magelang City, Central Jakarta City, and Tana Tidung Regency, with values of 4.03 patients per 100,000 population/week, 3.72 patients per 100,000 population/week, 3.28 patients per 100,000 population/week, 3.17 patients per 100,000 population/week, and 3.1 patients per 100,000 population/week, respectively.
A recapitulation of national Covid-19 data from the Ministry of Health shows that inpatient usage in most regencies/cities outside Java has decreased. A higher than usual daily inpatient usage was recorded in five regencies/cities, while 12 regencies/cities recorded lower inpatient usage.
Areas outside Java with the highest inpatient usage include Mahakam Ulu Regency, Tana Tidung Regency, and Toli Toli Regency, with inpatient usage of 3.72 patients per 100,000 population/week, 3.1 patients per 100,000 population/week, and 2.47 patients per 100,000 population/week, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
