The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 49 regencies/cities with weekly hospital inpatient use above the national average, currently recorded at 0.68 patients per 100,000 population/week, data as of Tuesday, January 3, 2023.
The five regencies/cities with the highest inpatient use, exceeding 3.15 patients per 100,000 population/week, are Magelang City, Sukabumi City, Central Jakarta City, Banda Aceh City, and Malang City, with respective values of 4.1 patients per 100,000 population/week, 3.9 patients per 100,000 population/week, 3.83 patients per 100,000 population/week, 3.17 patients per 100,000 population/week, and 3.15 patients per 100,000 population/week, respectively.
National Covid data recapitulation from the Ministry of Health shows that inpatient use in most regencies/cities outside Java has decreased. A higher than previous daily inpatient use was recorded in 13 regencies/cities, while 16 regencies/cities recorded lower inpatient use.
Areas outside Java with the highest inpatient use include Banda Aceh City, Metro City, and Palangkaraya City, with inpatient use of 3.17 patients per 100,000 population/week, 2.83 patients per 100,000 population/week, and 2.33 patients per 100,000 population/week, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
