The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 98 districts/cities with a Covid-19 death rate above the national average, currently recorded at 0.07 deaths per 100,000 population per week, data as of Monday, December 12, 2022.
The five districts/cities with the highest Covid-19 death rates, exceeding 1.2 deaths per 100,000 population per week, are Belitung (1.56 deaths per 100,000 population per week), Belitung Timur (1.53 deaths per 100,000 population per week), Sitaro (1.48 deaths per 100,000 population per week), Fakfak (1.21 deaths per 100,000 population per week), and Muna Barat (1.2 deaths per 100,000 population per week).
A national Covid-19 data recapitulation from the Ministry of Health shows a decrease in Covid-19 deaths in most districts/cities outside Java. Nine districts/cities recorded higher daily Covid-19 death rates than previously, while 18 districts/cities recorded lower rates.
Areas outside Java with the highest Covid-19 death rates include Belitung (1.56 deaths per 100,000 population per week), Belitung Timur (1.53 deaths per 100,000 population per week), and Sitaro (1.48 deaths per 100,000 population per week).
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
