The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 129 districts/cities with a weekly number of confirmed positive COVID-19 cases above the national average, currently recorded at 6.28 per 100,000 population/week (data as of Tuesday, November 8, 2022).
The top five districts/cities with confirmed positive cases exceeding 73.37 per 100,000 population/week are Central Jakarta, South Jakarta, West Jakarta, North Jakarta, and Balikpapan City, with respective values of 134.5 per 100,000 population/week, 112.37 per 100,000 population/week, 94.39 per 100,000 population/week, 82.2 per 100,000 population/week, and 73.37 per 100,000 population/week, respectively.
A recapitulation of national COVID-19 data from the Ministry of Health shows an increase in confirmed positive cases in most districts/cities outside Java. 131 districts/cities recorded higher daily confirmed positive cases than before, while 89 districts/cities recorded lower confirmed positive cases.
Areas outside Java with the highest confirmed positive case rates include Balikpapan City, Kutai Barat, and Bontang City, with confirmed positive cases of 73.37 per 100,000 population/week, 41.11 per 100,000 population/week, and 39.9 per 100,000 population/week, respectively.
Although COVID-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce COVID-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
