The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 19 regencies/cities with a Covid-19 death rate above the national average, currently recorded at 0.01 per 100,000 population per week, data as of Saturday, February 18, 2023.
The top five regencies/cities with a death rate exceeding 0.34 per 100,000 population per week are Kutai Barat (0.66 per 100,000 population per week), Bombana (0.52 per 100,000 population per week), Kulon Progo (0.44 per 100,000 population per week), Jembrana (0.35 per 100,000 population per week), and Malang City (0.34 per 100,000 population per week).
The national Covid-19 data recapitulation from the Ministry of Health shows a decrease in Covid-19 deaths in most regencies/cities outside Java. No regencies/cities recorded a higher daily Covid-19 death rate than previously.
Some of the areas outside Java with the highest Covid-19 death rates include Kutai Barat (0.66 per 100,000 population per week), Bombana (0.52 per 100,000 population per week), and Jembrana (0.35 per 100,000 population per week).
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to curbing the spread of the coronavirus.
