The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 75 regencies/cities with a Covid-19 death rate above the national average, currently recorded at 0.05 deaths per 100,000 population per week, data as of Sunday, August 21, 2022.
The five regencies/cities with the highest number of Covid-19 deaths, exceeding 0.89 deaths per 100,000 population per week, are Fakfak, Tanah Laut, South Minahasa, Southeast Minahasa, and Buleleng, with respective values of 2.42, 1.14, 0.94, 0.93, and 0.89 deaths per 100,000 population per week.
The national Covid-19 data recapitulation from the Ministry of Health shows that the number of Covid-19 deaths in most regencies/cities outside Java has decreased. A higher than usual daily number of Covid-19 deaths was recorded in two regencies/cities, while five regencies/cities recorded a lower number of Covid-19 deaths.
Areas outside Java with the highest number of Covid-19 deaths include Fakfak, Tanah Laut, and South Minahasa, with respective death rates of 2.42, 1.14, and 0.94 deaths per 100,000 population per week.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
