The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 143 districts/cities with a seven-day positivity rate above the national average, currently recorded at 0.79 percent (data as of Thursday, July 7, 2022).
The top five districts/cities with a seven-day positivity rate exceeding 8.36 percent are Magelang City, Barito Timur, North Jakarta City, West Jakarta City, and South Jakarta City, with values of 13.33 percent, 11.36 percent, 9.63 percent, 8.5 percent, and 8.36 percent respectively.
A recapitulation of national Covid-19 data from the Ministry of Health shows an increase in the seven-day positivity rate in most districts/cities outside Java. Sixty-six districts/cities recorded a higher seven-day positivity rate than the previous day, while 57 districts/cities recorded a lower seven-day positivity rate.
Some of the areas outside Java with the highest seven-day positivity rates include Barito Timur, Gianyar, and Denpasar City, with seven-day positivity rates of 11.36 percent, 5.97 percent, and 5.7 percent respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
