The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 147 districts/cities with a weekly agglomeration of confirmed positive COVID-19 cases above the national average, currently recorded at 3.76 per 100,000 population/week (data as of Thursday, December 8, 2022).
The top five districts/cities with confirmed positive cases exceeding 32.34 per 100,000 population/week are Bekasi, Bogor, South Jakarta, Bekasi City, and Bogor City, each with a value of 32.34 per 100,000 population/week.
A national COVID-19 data recapitulation from the Ministry of Health shows that confirmed positive cases in most districts/cities outside Java have decreased. A higher than previous daily confirmed positive case count was recorded in 85 districts/cities, while 120 districts/cities recorded lower confirmed positive cases.
Areas outside Java with the highest confirmed positive case values include Mimika, Central Sumba, and Teluk Bintuni, with confirmed positive cases of 26.6 per 100,000 population/week, 21.17 per 100,000 population/week, and 18.8 per 100,000 population/week, respectively.
Although COVID-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce COVID-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
