The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 109 districts/cities with a weekly agglomeration of confirmed positive COVID-19 cases above the national average, currently recorded at 4.12 per 100,000 population/week (data as of Wednesday, August 31, 2022).
The top five districts/cities with confirmed positive cases exceeding 40.92 per 100,000 population/week are Tomohon City, Bogor City, Central Jakarta City, Bekasi City, and South Jakarta City, each with 58.86, 40.92, 40.92, 40.92, and 40.92 per 100,000 population/week, respectively.
A recapitulation of national COVID-19 data from the Ministry of Health shows that confirmed positive cases in most districts/cities outside Java have decreased. Sixty-one districts/cities recorded higher daily confirmed positive cases than before, while 116 districts/cities recorded lower confirmed positive cases.
Areas outside Java with the highest confirmed positive cases include Tomohon City, Mahakam Ulu, and Mimika, with confirmed positive cases of 58.86, 37.28, and 29.76 per 100,000 population/week, respectively.
Although COVID-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce COVID-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
