A national COVID-19 data recapitulation from the Ministry of Health shows an increase in confirmed positive cases in most regencies/cities outside Java. Nineteen regencies/cities recorded higher daily confirmed positive cases than before, while eight regencies/cities recorded lower numbers.
Areas outside Java with the highest confirmed positive cases include Mamberamo Raya, Tana Tidung, and Boven Digoel, with 3.9, 3.1, and 2.77 per 100,000 population/week, respectively.
Although COVID-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
