The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 18 districts/cities with a Covid-19 death rate above the national average, currently recorded at 0.01 deaths per 100,000 population per week, data as of Sunday, March 5, 2023.
The five districts/cities with the highest Covid-19 death rates, exceeding 0.45 deaths per 100,000 population per week, are East Seram, West Sumba, West Aceh, Central Aceh, and Malang City, with respective rates of 0.87, 0.73, 0.63, 0.45, and 0.45 deaths per 100,000 population per week.
A national Covid-19 data recapitulation from the Ministry of Health shows a decrease in Covid-19 deaths in most districts/cities outside Java. Zero districts/cities recorded a higher daily Covid-19 death rate than previously, and one district/city recorded a lower death rate.
Areas outside Java with the highest Covid-19 death rates include East Seram, West Sumba, and West Aceh, with respective rates of 0.87, 0.73, and 0.63 deaths per 100,000 population per week.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
