The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 150 districts/cities with a weekly agglomeration of confirmed positive COVID-19 cases above the national average, currently recorded at 3.16 per 100,000 population/week, data as of Sunday, December 11, 2022.
The top five districts/cities with confirmed positive cases exceeding 25.3 per 100,000 population/week are South Jakarta, Tangerang City, Depok City, South Tangerang City, and West Jakarta City, each with 25.3 per 100,000 population/week.
A recapitulation of national COVID-19 data from the Ministry of Health shows that confirmed positive cases in most districts/cities outside Java have decreased. A higher than previous daily confirmed positive case count was recorded in 47 districts/cities, while 91 districts/cities recorded lower confirmed positive cases.
Areas outside Java with the highest confirmed positive case rates include Mimika, Central Sumba, and Teluk Bintuni, with confirmed positive cases of 22.09, 17.2, and 15.91 per 100,000 population/week, respectively.
Although COVID-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce COVID-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
