The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded that 228 regencies/cities had a seven-day positivity rate above the national average, which currently stands at 13.72 percent (data as of Tuesday, November 22, 2022).
The top five regencies/cities with a seven-day positivity rate exceeding 52.94 percent are Gayo Lues, Bulungan, Kepulauan Seribu, Halmahera Utara, and Tojo Una Una, with respective values of 70 percent, 57.78 percent, 55.56 percent, 55 percent, and 52.94 percent.
A recapitulation of national Covid-19 data from the Ministry of Health shows an increase in the seven-day positivity rate in most regencies/cities outside Java. A daily seven-day positivity rate higher than the previous day was recorded in 159 regencies/cities, while 154 regencies/cities recorded a lower seven-day positivity rate.
Some of the areas outside Java with the highest seven-day positivity rates include Gayo Lues, Bulungan, and Halmahera Utara, with respective seven-day positivity rates of 70 percent, 57.78 percent, and 55 percent.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
