The next most popular destinations were Saudi Arabia (18.05%) and Singapore (13.41%).

According to BPS, the high number of visits to Malaysia and Singapore is influenced by geographical proximity, competitive travel costs, and adequate transportation connectivity.

Meanwhile, travel to Saudi Arabia is driven by the main purpose of performing the Hajj or Umrah pilgrimages.
