The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 123 regencies/cities with a weekly number of confirmed positive COVID-19 cases above the national average, currently recorded at 2.68 per 100,000 population/week, data as of Monday, September 19, 2022.
The top five regencies/cities with the highest confirmed positive cases, exceeding 35.51 per 100,000 population/week, are Central Jakarta, South Jakarta, West Jakarta, South Tangerang, and North Jakarta, with values of 49.91, 43.22, 40.34, 38.22, and 35.51 per 100,000 population/week, respectively.
A recapitulation of national COVID-19 data from the Ministry of Health shows an increase in confirmed positive cases in most regencies/cities outside Java. 72 regencies/cities recorded higher daily confirmed positive cases than before, while 56 regencies/cities recorded lower confirmed positive cases.
Areas outside Java with the highest confirmed positive cases include Teluk Bintuni, Sabang City, and Fakfak, with confirmed positive cases of 30.37, 25.66, and 20.6 per 100,000 population/week, respectively.
Although COVID-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce COVID-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
