The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) recorded that the Hotel Occupancy Rate (HOR) for star-rated hotels in DKI Jakarta in November 2021 was the highest since the Covid-19 pandemic hit Indonesia, reaching 53.3%. This figure is up 2.7 percentage points compared to the previous month.
This increase is because, since the beginning of November 2021, the implementation of Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) in Jakarta has entered level 1. This policy has had a positive impact on the hotel industry. Hotels can operate at 100% capacity, and wedding receptions, corporate meetings, and workshops can be held in hotels with 75% capacity.
This condition is certainly much better compared to November 2020. The HOR for star-rated hotels in Jakarta in November 2020 was recorded at 45.6%, so in November 2021, the figure increased by 7.7 percentage points.
Based on star-rated hotel classification, the HOR for five-star hotels was the highest in November 2021, reaching 57%. This figure decreased by 2.8 percentage points month-on-month from October 2021 but increased by 16% year-on-year from November 2020.
