Ratio of Doctors at the Provincial Level in Indonesia by the End of 2025

According to Ministry of Health data, there were 216,132 doctors in Indonesia as of December 2025.

Calculated against the national population, this figure is equivalent to 0.76 doctors per 1,000 residents.

This ratio is still below the Ministry of Health's target of 0.8 doctors per 1,000 residents by the end of this year.

The disparity in doctor-to-population ratios between provinces also remains wide.

As of December 2025, the doctor ratio in DKI Jakarta reached 2.53 per 1,000 residents, while in West Papua, the ratio was only 0.02 per 1,000 residents.
