Growth in the Number of Posyandu in DKI Jakarta, 2004-2024

According to data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) compiled by Databoks, there were 5,371 posyandu units in DKI Jakarta in 2024. 

This number increased by 589 units, or grew by approximately 12% compared to the previous year. This achievement also marks the highest record in the last two decades.

During the 2004-2024 period, the number of posyandu in Jakarta increased almost every year, except in 2008, 2010, and 2019, as shown in the graph.

Expansion of Mental Health Services to Posyandu Level

Currently, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is expanding mental health services down to the posyandu level.

This is primarily aimed at mothers, especially during pregnancy and after childbirth.

"Jakarta continues to expand mental health services, from providing psychologists at community health centers, online consultations, to strengthening the role of posyandu and health cadres at the community level," said DKI Jakarta Deputy Governor Rano Karno, as reported by Antara, Monday (October 6, 2025).

He explained that mental health services began to be integrated into posyandu since 2024. However, the number of posyandu that have provided these services is still in the data collection process.

Thus, currently, posyandu cadres not only focus on nutrition and immunization services but also provide education and initial support for residents who need psychological assistance.

"Because mental health is the foundation of a productive and happy life," said Rano.
