Data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), compiled by Databoks, shows differences in the life expectancy at birth (LEB) for women across 6 provinces on Java Island. These provinces include Banten, Jakarta, West Java, Central Java, DI Yogyakarta, and East Java.

The LEB for women is the estimated average lifespan a female infant born in a specific year in a particular region is expected to live.

This figure is one of the important indicators used to measure the health status, welfare, and development progress of the female population in a region.

DI Yogyakarta is the province with the highest female life expectancy on Java Island in 2024, followed by Central Java and West Java.

Below is the complete list of female LEB in 6 provinces on Java Island in 2024:

• DI Yogyakarta: 77.4 years
• Central Java: 76.99 years
• West Java: 76.56 years
• Jakarta: 76.28 years
• East Java: 74.4 years
• Banten: 73.04 years

From this data, practically only Banten Province has a female LEB below the national female LEB, which is 74.21 years.
