Indonesia's Star-Rated Hotel Occupancy Rate Reaches 49.98% in June 2025

According to the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) report, the hotel occupancy rate (HOR) for star-rated hotels in Indonesia reached 49.98% in June 2025. This is the highest record of the year.

The figure increased by 1.70 percentage points compared to the previous month (month-to-month/mtm). However, year-on-year (year-on-year/yoy), the figure decreased by 4.71 points compared to June 2024.

BPS Deputy for Distribution and Service Statistics, Pudji Ismartini, stated that the highest star-rated hotel HOR in June 2025 was in Bali, at 64.66%.

"Driven by numerous sporting and art events," said Pudji in an online press conference on Friday (1/8/2025).

The next highest rates were in Yogyakarta Special Region and Jakarta Special Capital Region, which achieved star-rated hotel HORs of 53.86% and 52.35%, respectively.

Meanwhile, the lowest hotel HOR was in Papua Pegunungan, at only 13.21%. This was followed by Aceh at 24.46% and Bangka Belitung Islands at 25.51%.

BPS recorded that the average length of stay for guests at star-rated hotels in Indonesia in June 2025 was 1.59 nights.

Based on nationality, the average stay for foreign guests was 2.46 nights, while for domestic guests it was 1.46 nights.
