Top 10 Regencies/Cities with the Highest Confirmed Positive Cases Nationally (Tuesday, September 20, 2022)

The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 149 districts/cities with a weekly agglomeration of confirmed positive COVID-19 cases above the national average, currently recorded at 2.52 per 100,000 population/week (data as of Tuesday, September 20, 2022).

The top five districts/cities with confirmed positive cases exceeding 19.79 per 100,000 population/week are Teluk Bintuni, Sabang City, Balikpapan City, Tangerang City, and North Jakarta City, with values of 30.37, 25.66, 19.97, 19.79, and 19.79 per 100,000 population/week, respectively.

A recapitulation of national COVID-19 data from the Ministry of Health shows an increase in confirmed positive cases in most districts/cities outside Java. An increase in daily confirmed positive cases compared to previous figures was recorded in 87 districts/cities, while 69 districts/cities recorded lower confirmed positive cases.

Areas outside Java with the highest confirmed positive cases include Teluk Bintuni, Sabang City, and Balikpapan City, with confirmed positive cases of 30.37, 25.66, and 19.97 per 100,000 population/week, respectively.

Although COVID-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce COVID-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
