According to data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the number of accommodation businesses in Indonesia decreased in 2021, impacted by mobility restrictions related to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Since 2022, however, the number has started to increase again, and this upward trend has continued until 2024, as shown in the graph.

By the end of 2024, there were 31,175 accommodation businesses in Indonesia, comprising 4,584 star-rated hotels and 26,591 non-star-rated hotels/other accommodation businesses.
