According to a JakPat survey of 1,115 Indonesian Generation Z (Gen Z) respondents, approximately 77% consume coffee.

Of this group, the majority, or 48%, spend less than Rp10,000 to buy or make a cup of coffee.

Thirty percent of respondents allocate between Rp10,000 and Rp25,000; 18% spend Rp25,000 to Rp50,000; and 4% spend Rp50,000 to Rp100,000 per cup.

Meanwhile, only 1% of respondents spend more than Rp100,000 to buy or make a cup of coffee.

Relatedly, the survey found that price is the main factor considered by Gen Z when buying coffee, accounting for 47%.

Other considerations include taste (46%), stomach safety (34%), aroma (31%), and availability (28%).

This JakPat survey involved a total of 1,150 respondents, narrowed down to 896 coffee consumers. Gen Z is defined as individuals born between 1997 and 2012.

Respondents were located in non-Jabodetabek Java (44%), Jabodetabek (28%), and outside Java (28%).

The survey was conducted online via the Jakpat application from December 6-9, 2024, with a margin of error below 5%.
