Bali's Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported 2.91 million foreign tourist visits to the "Island of Gods" during the January-June 2024 period.
This represents a 23.61% year-on-year (YoY) increase compared to the same period in the previous year, which saw 2.35 million visits.
"Cumulatively, January-June figures are higher than pre-pandemic levels in 2019. This is the highest number from 2020-2023, indicating positive development," said Made Agus Adnyana, Senior Statistics Expert at Bali BPS, during an online press conference on Thursday, August 1st, 2024.
By country of origin, Australian tourists dominated, with 701,840 visits, accounting for 24.11% of total foreign tourist arrivals in Bali during this period.

2. India: 278,713 visits
3. China: 222,563 visits
4. United Kingdom: 137,853 visits
5. United States: 128,138 visits
6. South Korea: 125,768 visits
7. Malaysia: 115,657 visits
8. France: 107,074 visits
9. Singapore: 106,038 visits
10. Germany: 91,425 visits
11. Other countries: 896,086 visits
In terms of transportation mode, air travel dominated foreign tourist arrivals to Bali in the first half of the year, with 2.89 million visits (99.58%). Sea travel accounted for only 12,075 visits (0.42%).
