The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 150 regencies/cities with a weekly agglomeration of confirmed positive Covid-19 cases above the national average, currently recorded at 1.56 per 100,000 population/week, data as of Thursday, December 22, 2022.
The top five regencies/cities with confirmed positive cases exceeding 9.06 per 100,000 population/week are Balangan, Belitung, Teluk Bintuni, Mimika, and East Jakarta City, with respective values of 34.18 per 100,000 population/week, 20.82 per 100,000 population/week, 15.91 per 100,000 population/week, 13.98 per 100,000 population/week, and 9.06 per 100,000 population/week, respectively.
A recapitulation of national Covid-19 data from the Ministry of Health shows a decrease in confirmed positive cases in most regencies/cities outside Java. 45 regencies/cities recorded higher daily confirmed positive cases than before, while 96 regencies/cities recorded lower confirmed positive cases.
Areas outside Java with the highest confirmed positive case rates include Balangan, Belitung, and Teluk Bintuni, with confirmed positive cases of 34.18 per 100,000 population/week, 20.82 per 100,000 population/week, and 15.91 per 100,000 population/week, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
