The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 19 districts/cities with a Covid-19 death rate exceeding the national average, currently recorded at 0.01 per 100,000 population per week, as of Saturday, January 28, 2023.
The top five districts/cities with a Covid-19 death rate exceeding 0.24 per 100,000 population per week are Magelang City, Aceh Barat Daya, Malang City, West Lombok, and Pringsewu, with rates of 0.82, 0.63, 0.34, 0.27, and 0.24 per 100,000 population per week, respectively.
National Covid-19 data recapitulation from the Ministry of Health shows an increase in Covid-19 deaths in most districts/cities outside Java. A higher-than-usual daily Covid-19 death rate was recorded in one district/city.
Areas outside Java with the highest Covid-19 death rates include Aceh Barat Daya, West Lombok, and Pringsewu, with rates of 0.63, 0.27, and 0.24 per 100,000 population per week, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
