The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 170 regencies/cities with a seven-day positivity rate above the national average, currently recorded at 3.55 percent (data as of Saturday, August 13, 2022).
The top five regencies/cities with a seven-day positivity rate exceeding 20.96 percent are Kapuas, Barito Timur, Barito Selatan, Bekasi City, and Tangerang City, with values of 28.57 percent, 26.74 percent, 25.24 percent, 21.46 percent, and 20.96 percent, respectively.
A recapitulation of national Covid-19 data from the Ministry of Health shows an increase in the seven-day positivity rate in most regencies/cities outside Java. A daily seven-day positivity rate higher than the previous day was recorded in 158 regencies/cities, while 92 regencies/cities recorded a lower seven-day positivity rate.
Some of the areas outside Java with the highest seven-day positivity rates include Kapuas, Barito Timur, and Barito Selatan, with seven-day positivity rates of 28.57 percent, 26.74 percent, and 25.24 percent, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
