Jakarta Air Quality Deteriorates Again as PLN Electricity Resumes

Jakarta's air quality improved after a power outage in Jabodetabek and West Java on Sunday (August 4th). According to Airvisual.com, Jakarta's Air Quality Index (AQI) reached a moderate category on Monday from 4:00 AM to 8:00 AM WIB, with a score ranging from 79-90. By 8:50 AM WIB, Jakarta's air quality had dropped to 20th place, after Shenyang (88), Kuwait City (87), Seoul (84), and Sofia (84).

However, in the following hour, Jakarta's air quality deteriorated. From 9:00 AM WIB, Jakarta's air quality showed a score of 102 and worsened to 152 by 10:00 AM WIB. Jakarta then ranked fourth in the world with unhealthy air quality.

For information, the AQI range is 0-500. A score of 0-5 indicates good air quality, 51-100 moderate, 101-150 unhealthy for sensitive groups, 151-200 unhealthy, 201-300 very unhealthy, and 301-500 and above hazardous.
