The Covid-19 pandemic is not yet over. However, Indonesian citizens' mobility has increased following the relaxation of community activity restrictions (PPKM).
According to Google's *Report on Community Mobility during the Covid-19 Pandemic*, the most significant increase in mobility trends is observed in open-air tourist attractions, such as national parks, beaches, docks, pet parks, open fields, and public parks.
Mobility to these places increased by 46% in the first few weeks of May 2022 compared to the pre-pandemic period (January 3-February 6, 2020).
Furthermore, citizen mobility to grocery stores, such as supermarkets, grocery stores, traditional markets, drugstores, and pharmacies, increased by 36% during the same period.
Meanwhile, mobility to retail stores and recreational venues such as restaurants, cafes, shopping malls, amusement parks, museums, libraries, and cinemas increased by 13%.
Citizen mobility to workplaces increased by 14%, residential areas by 12%, and mobility in public transportation centers by 6%.
"We calculated this analysis based on data from users who chose to enable Location History for their Google Accounts, so the data represents a sample of our users," Google wrote in its report released on Saturday (May 14, 2022).
"As with all samples, this may or may not represent the actual behavior of the broader population," it continued.
