The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 109 regencies/cities with a weekly number of confirmed positive COVID-19 cases above the national average, currently recorded at 3.89 per 100,000 population/week (data as of Friday, September 2, 2022).
The top five regencies/cities with confirmed positive cases exceeding 59.28 per 100,000 population/week are Central Jakarta, South Tangerang, South Jakarta, West Jakarta, and North Jakarta, with respective values of 82.85, 82.24, 74.39, 62.35, and 59.28 per 100,000 population/week.
A recapitulation of national COVID-19 data from the Ministry of Health shows a decrease in confirmed positive cases in most regencies/cities outside Java. Seventy regencies/cities recorded higher daily confirmed positive cases than before, while 89 regencies/cities recorded lower confirmed positive cases.
Some of the areas outside Java with the highest confirmed positive case rates include Tomohon, Mimika, and Bontang, with confirmed positive cases of 46.19, 30.66, and 25.88 per 100,000 population/week, respectively.
Although COVID-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce COVID-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
