The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 17 districts/cities with a Covid-19 death rate exceeding the national average, currently recorded at 0.01 per 100,000 population per week, as of Thursday, March 2, 2023.
The top five districts/cities with death rates exceeding 0.37 per 100,000 population per week are East Seram, West Sumba, Madiun City, Malang City, and Tarakan City, with respective rates of 0.87, 0.73, 0.56, 0.45, and 0.37 per 100,000 population per week.
National Covid-19 data compiled by the Ministry of Health shows an increase in Covid-19 deaths in most districts/cities outside Java. One district/city recorded a higher daily Covid-19 death rate than previously seen.
Areas outside Java with the highest Covid-19 death rates include East Seram, West Sumba, and Tarakan City, with respective rates of 0.87, 0.73, and 0.37 per 100,000 population per week.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
