The daily number of Covid-19 cases in Indonesia has been setting new record highs in recent days. The *Sydney Morning Herald (SMH)* even suggests that Indonesia has the potential to become the global epicenter of the coronavirus. The media outlet highlights the high number of daily infections in Indonesia, exceeding 1,000 in recent days, as well as the high death toll and proportionally low number of coronavirus tests.
Meanwhile, the United States still holds the top spot with the highest total number of Covid-19 cases at 34.49 million. India and Brazil follow with 30.27 million and 18.42 million cases, respectively.
France, Russia, and Turkey have 5.77 million, 5.45 million, and 5.40 million cases, respectively. Furthermore, the United Kingdom, Argentina, and Italy have 4.73 million, 4.40 million, and 4.25 million cases, respectively.
The government continues to urge the public to practice social distancing, wear masks, and wash their hands with soap and running water. Everyone is also expected to reduce mobility and avoid crowds.
