In West Coast Regency in 2023, per capita weekly household expenditure on cigarettes and tobacco was Rp25,390. This figure is higher than the previous year's Rp24,330 per capita per week.

The five largest components of household expenditure on cigarettes and tobacco in West Coast Regency, ranked from highest to lowest, were: kretek filter cigarettes (Rp16,540 per capita per week), kretek cigarettes without filter (Rp8,328.09 per capita per week), white cigarettes (Rp312.29 per capita per week), tobacco (Rp164.91 per capita per week), and other cigarettes and tobacco products (Rp45.23 per capita per week).

Average per capita expenditure is the cost incurred for the consumption of all household members over a month, including purchases, gifts, and self-produced goods, divided by the number of household members. Household consumption is categorized into food and non-food consumption, regardless of the source of goods, and is limited to household needs only, excluding consumption/expenditure for business purposes or given to others.

Expenditure on food consumption is calculated weekly, while non-food consumption is calculated monthly and for the past 12 months. Both food and non-food consumption are then converted into average monthly expenditure. The average per capita consumption/expenditure figures presented in BPS publications are obtained by dividing the total consumption of all households (both consuming food and not) by the total population.

Based on region, the highest household expenditure on cigarettes and tobacco was in Puncak Jaya Regency, and the lowest was in Yahukimo Regency. West Coast Regency ranked 124th in terms of expenditure on cigarettes and tobacco. The national average per capita weekly expenditure on cigarettes and tobacco is Rp257.5.
