The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 48 districts/cities with weekly hospital inpatient use above the national average, currently recorded at 0.59 patients per 100,000 population/week, data as of Sunday, January 8, 2023.
The five districts/cities with the highest inpatient use, exceeding two patients per 100,000 population/week, are Central Jakarta, Cimahi, Palu, Blitar, and Tegal, with respective values of 3.61 patients per 100,000 population/week, 2.94 patients per 100,000 population/week, 2.19 patients per 100,000 population/week, 2.06 patients per 100,000 population/week, and two patients per 100,000 population/week, respectively.
A national Covid-19 data recapitulation from the Ministry of Health shows that inpatient use in most districts/cities outside Java has decreased. A higher than previous daily inpatient use was recorded in eight districts/cities, while 14 districts/cities recorded lower inpatient use.
Areas outside Java with the highest inpatient use include Palu, Palangkaraya, and Tana Toraja, with inpatient use of 2.19 patients per 100,000 population/week, 1.66 patients per 100,000 population/week, and 1.65 patients per 100,000 population/week, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
