The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 156 districts/cities with a weekly Covid-19 positive confirmation rate above the national average, currently recorded at 0.3 per 100,000 population/week (data as of Friday, January 27, 2023).
The top five districts/cities with the highest rates, exceeding 2.75 per 100,000 population/week, are Gayo Lues (4.12 per 100,000 population/week), Fakfak (3.58 per 100,000 population/week), Sabang (2.83 per 100,000 population/week), Teluk Bintuni (2.83 per 100,000 population/week), and Pangkal Pinang (2.75 per 100,000 population/week).
A national Covid-19 data recapitulation from the Ministry of Health shows that most districts/cities outside Java Island experienced a decrease in positive confirmations. Eighteen districts/cities recorded higher daily positive confirmations than previously, while 45 districts/cities recorded lower positive confirmations.
Areas outside Java with the highest positive confirmation rates include Gayo Lues (4.12 per 100,000 population/week), Fakfak (3.58 per 100,000 population/week), and Sabang (2.83 per 100,000 population/week).
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
