The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 134 districts/cities with a weekly number of confirmed positive COVID-19 cases above the national average, currently recorded at 1.93 per 100,000 population/week, data as of Monday, October 10, 2022.
The top five districts/cities with confirmed positive cases exceeding 21.5 per 100,000 population/week are Central Jakarta, South Tangerang, South Jakarta, North Jakarta, and Kupang City, with values of 28.35, 23.42, 22.82, 22.27, and 21.5 per 100,000 population/week, respectively.
The national COVID-19 data recapitulation from the Ministry of Health shows an increase in confirmed positive cases in most districts/cities outside Java. Sixty-one districts/cities recorded higher daily confirmed positive cases than before, while 60 districts/cities recorded lower confirmed positive cases.
Some of the areas outside Java with the highest confirmed positive case rates include Kupang City, Tomohon City, and Singkawang City, with confirmed positive cases of 21.5, 16.3, and 12.03 per 100,000 population/week, respectively.
Although COVID-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce COVID-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
