The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 143 districts/cities with a seven-day positivity rate above the national average, currently recorded at 1.46 percent (data as of Sunday, January 15, 2023).
The top five districts/cities with a seven-day positivity rate exceeding 20 percent are North Halmahera (33.33 percent), Temanggung (27.12 percent), West Aceh (25 percent), Tojo Una-Una (25 percent), and Sangihe Islands (20 percent).
A recapitulation of national Covid-19 data from the Ministry of Health shows an increase in the seven-day positivity rate in most districts/cities outside Java. 78 districts/cities recorded a higher seven-day positivity rate than before, while 69 districts/cities recorded a lower seven-day positivity rate.
Some of the areas outside Java with the highest seven-day positivity rates include North Halmahera (33.33 percent), West Aceh (25 percent), and Tojo Una-Una (25 percent).
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
