According to a recent *Nikkei* report, as of October 31, 2021, Indonesia's COVID-19 recovery index ranked 41st out of 121 countries, with a score of 56 points. This ranking still places Indonesia at the top in Southeast Asia.
Indonesia's COVID-19 recovery index ranking rose from September 2021. At that time, Indonesia's COVID-19 recovery index score was 54.5 points, placing it at 54th rank.
Cambodia ranked second with a COVID-19 recovery index score of 55 points. This score placed Cambodia at 47th, a drop of 29 ranks from the previous month's 76th rank. Next is Malaysia, with a COVID-19 recovery index score of 54.5 points, placing it at 50th. Vietnam and Thailand each had scores of 43.5 points and ranked 95th.
Singapore ranked 100th with a COVID-19 recovery index score of 42 points. The Philippines ranked 103rd with a COVID-19 recovery index of 41.5 points. Myanmar ranked 108th with a score of 39.5 points. Meanwhile, Laos ranked 121st with a score of 24 points.
The index score is an accumulation of three assessment categories: infection management, vaccination, and social mobility. The higher the ranking, the closer the country is to recovering from COVID-19.
Although Indonesia's COVID-19 recovery index score continues to improve, the public must remain vigilant in preventing the spread of the coronavirus. This can be done by implementing the 3M health protocol: wearing a mask, maintaining distance, and washing hands with soap.
