A total of 60.15 million trips were recorded in September 2023, a year-on-year (YoY) increase of 18.67% compared to the 53.90 million trips in September 2022.

BPS identified three provinces as the main destinations for domestic tourists. East Java had the highest number of trips, with 43.62 million or 22.66% of the total domestic tourist trips in the third quarter of 2023 (July-September 2023).

Cumulatively, East Java received 160.32 million domestic tourist trips in the first three quarters of 2023.

West Java followed with 38.06 million trips or 19.77% in the third quarter of 2023. The cumulative figure for the first three quarters reached 113.52 million trips.

Central Java recorded 26.83 million trips in the third quarter of 2023, representing 13.94% of the total. The total number of trips for the first three quarters reached 89.93 million.
