The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 141 districts/cities with a weekly number of confirmed positive Covid-19 cases above the national average, currently recorded at 1.32 per 100,000 population/week (data as of Monday, December 26, 2022).
The top five districts/cities with confirmed positive cases exceeding 12.33 per 100,000 population/week are Balangan, Belitung, South Jakarta, Central Jakarta, and South Tangerang, with values of 31.95, 19.26, 16.02, 14.45, and 12.33 per 100,000 population/week, respectively.
A national Covid-19 data recapitulation from the Ministry of Health shows that most districts/cities outside Java Island experienced a decrease in confirmed positive cases. A higher than previous daily number of confirmed positive cases was recorded in 32 districts/cities, while 61 districts/cities recorded lower confirmed positive cases.
Areas outside Java with the highest confirmed positive cases include Balangan, Belitung, and Gayo Lues, with confirmed positive cases of 31.95, 19.26, and 10.4 per 100,000 population/week, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
