At that time, Kupang's air quality was categorized as "good," meaning pollutant levels were very minimal. Kotawaringin Barat followed in second place with an air quality index of 29, and Mamuju was third with an index of 30.

* 101-200: Unhealthy
* 201-300: Very Unhealthy
* 300+: Hazardous
Therefore, on Sunday, October 1st, 2023, at 6:00 AM WIB, cities with good air quality were Kupang, Kotawaringin Barat, Mamuju, Gorontalo, Balikpapan, Manado, Kendari, Malang, and Jayapura. One other city, Manokwari, had moderate air quality.
