The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 127 regencies/cities with a weekly confirmed positive COVID-19 case count above the national average, currently recorded at 2.24 per 100,000 population/week (data as of Thursday, September 29, 2022).
The top five regencies/cities with confirmed positive cases exceeding 25.83 per 100,000 population/week are Central Jakarta, South Jakarta, South Tangerang, West Jakarta, and North Jakarta, with respective values of 44.65, 30.14, 29.61, 26.44, and 25.83 per 100,000 population/week.
A national COVID-19 data recapitulation from the Ministry of Health shows that most regencies/cities outside Java Island experienced a decrease in confirmed positive cases. 72 regencies/cities recorded higher daily confirmed positive cases than before, while 75 regencies/cities recorded lower confirmed positive cases.
Areas outside Java with the highest confirmed positive case rates include Kupang, Balikpapan, and Sitaro, with respective confirmed positive cases of 21.29, 17.65, and 16.32 per 100,000 population/week.
Although COVID-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce COVID-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
