The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 152 districts/cities with a weekly agglomeration of confirmed positive COVID-19 cases above the national average, currently recorded at 0.37 per 100,000 population/week (data as of Tuesday, January 24, 2023).
The top five districts/cities with confirmed positive cases exceeding 2.94 per 100,000 population/week are Sabang City, Morowali, Kupang City, Tana Tidung, and Kotamobagu City, with respective values of 5.66, 5.45, 3.53, 3.1, and 2.94 per 100,000 population/week.
A national COVID-19 data recapitulation from the Ministry of Health shows a decrease in confirmed positive cases in most districts/cities outside Java. Thirty-six districts/cities recorded higher daily confirmed positive cases than previously, while 47 districts/cities recorded lower confirmed positive cases.
Areas outside Java with the highest confirmed positive cases include Sabang City, Morowali, and Kupang City, with confirmed positive cases of 5.66, 5.45, and 3.53 per 100,000 population/week, respectively.
Although COVID-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce COVID-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distancing, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
