The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 53 regencies/cities with a Covid-19 death rate above the national average, currently recorded at 0.04 deaths per 100,000 population per week, data as of Friday, October 7, 2022.
The five regencies/cities with the highest number of Covid-19 deaths, exceeding 0.91 deaths per 100,000 population per week, are Natuna, Minahasa, Fakfak, Minahasa Tenggara, and Tomohon City, with respective rates of 3.68, 1.45, 1.21, 0.93, and 0.91 deaths per 100,000 population per week.
A national Covid-19 data recapitulation from the Ministry of Health shows that the number of Covid-19 deaths in most regencies/cities outside Java has decreased. However, six regencies/cities recorded a higher daily number of Covid-19 deaths than previously, while eight regencies/cities recorded lower numbers.
Areas outside Java with the highest Covid-19 death rates include Natuna, Minahasa, and Fakfak, with respective rates of 3.68, 1.45, and 1.21 deaths per 100,000 population per week.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
