At that time, Palu's air quality was categorized as "good," meaning the level of pollutants in the air was very minimal. Dumai was ranked second with an air quality index of 35. Indragiri Hilir followed in third place with an air quality index of 36.

* 101-200: Unhealthy
* 201-300: Very Unhealthy
* 300+: Hazardous
This means that on Thursday, October 26, 2023, at 6:00 AM WIB, the cities with good air quality were Palu, Dumai, Indragiri Hilir, Mamuju, Banyuasin, Bulungan, Ambon, Samarinda, and Manokwari. One other city, Siak, had moderate air quality.
