The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 70 regencies/cities with a weekly number of confirmed positive COVID-19 cases above the national average, currently recorded at 2.72 per 100,000 population/week (data as of Sunday, July 17, 2022).
The top five regencies/cities with confirmed positive cases exceeding 78.58 per 100,000 population/week are South Jakarta, Central Jakarta, South Tangerang, West Jakarta, and North Jakarta, with values of 121.33, 101.45, 86.35, 83.5, and 78.58 per 100,000 population/week, respectively.
A recapitulation of national COVID-19 data from the Ministry of Health shows an increase in confirmed positive cases in most regencies/cities outside Java. 48 regencies/cities recorded a higher number of daily confirmed positive cases than before, while 19 regencies/cities recorded lower numbers.
Areas outside Java with the highest confirmed positive case rates include Badung, Denpasar, and Palangkaraya, with confirmed positive cases of 44.65, 22.8, and 18.59 per 100,000 population/week, respectively.
Although COVID-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce COVID-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
