Top 10 Regencies/Cities with the Highest National Inpatient Utilization (Monday, January 9, 2023)

The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 57 districts/cities with weekly inpatient utilization above the national average, currently recorded at 0.54 patients per 100,000 population/week, data as of Monday, January 9, 2023.

The five districts/cities with the highest inpatient utilization, exceeding 1.64 patients per 100,000 population/week, are Palu City, Blitar City, Kediri City, Tana Toraja, and Magelang City, with respective values of 2.93 patients per 100,000 population/week, 2.06 patients per 100,000 population/week, 1.7 patients per 100,000 population/week, 1.65 patients per 100,000 population/week, and 1.64 patients per 100,000 population/week, respectively.

A recapitulation of national Covid data from the Ministry of Health shows an increase in inpatient utilization in most districts/cities outside Java. Daily inpatient utilization higher than previously recorded was noted in 26 districts/cities, while eight districts/cities recorded lower inpatient utilization.

Areas outside Java with the highest inpatient utilization include Palu City, Tana Toraja, and Kapuas Hulu, with inpatient utilization rates of 2.93 patients per 100,000 population/week, 1.65 patients per 100,000 population/week, and 1.44 patients per 100,000 population/week, respectively.

Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
