The average length of stay for foreign guests at star-rated hotels in Indonesia mostly decreased throughout 2022.
Of the many classes of star-rated hotels, an increase only occurred in 1-star hotels, namely 2.15 days in 2022. The duration in this class in 2021 was only 1.78 days.
The rest, from 2-star to 5-star hotels, all experienced a decrease in 2022.
"The decrease in the average length of stay for foreign guests occurred in almost all hotel classes, except for 1-star hotels which experienced an increase of 0.37 days," wrote the BPS (Central Bureau of Statistics) in its report titled *Hotel Room Occupancy Rate 2022*.
A significant decrease occurred in 4-star hotels, from 3.11 days to 2.66 days.
Despite many experiencing a decrease, among all star classes, 5-star hotels had the longest average stay for foreign guests, at 2.99 days in 2022. The figure in 2021 was considerably higher, at 3.50 days. The rest can be seen in the graph.
BPS explained that spatially, the highest average length of stay for foreign guests occurred in DKI Jakarta, at 4.33 days.
"While the lowest occurred in North Kalimantan Province, at only 1.43 days," said BPS.
